Growth rings

While living in Finland my fascination for wood grew even more. I learned more about the paper industry in Finland and decided that I wanted to return the paper to the tree. From a secondhand store I got Finnish books about trees, forests, and gardening. Pages in a language that I don't understand, trying to explain to me what a tree is. Something that a book can't tell you, because to get any knowledge about trees you have to grow and dwell with them. I used these discoloured pages to match the year rings and fill up a crack in the wood. The information cut up and hidden in the tree trunk.
