"An artist who observes the world around her. Anoek is exceptionally versatile and knows how to work across a range of disciplines. She achieves a powerful impact with simple means. We were struck by her enterprising and unconventional approach." Jury report by Ron Dirven, director, and Eva Geene, curator at the Vincent van GoghHuis, on the occasion of my winning the Van Gogh AiR Award 2023.

"The motivation behind inviting you is the way in which public space always plays a contextual role in your practice, and how your artistic vision incorporates various factors, such as questioning ownership and taken-for-granted functionality, as well as the relationships that emerge with audiences or viewers, often engaging multiple senses." Esther van Rosmalen, artistic director of Witte Rook.

"Thanks to the frameworks Anoek offers us, we are able to approach this place, 49m², in a different way. Through her auditory research, she gives nature a voice, revealing the human urge to make tangible what is intangible. In contrast to the growing distance between humans and nature, driven by industrialisation, profit and capital, Anoek swims against the current. She shows how the desire to turn the tide is growing. She contributes to this changing cultural trend and uses her art to search for answers that might help restore this connection." Excerpt from an article about my residency at 49m², written by Vincent Koevoets.
