Rooftop expeditions
During the working period at the Fabriek in Eindhoven I questioned the place; a space where for over 40 years artists have worked and exhibited their art. I wanted to look at the history before adding to it. I followed an un-logical thought; I am going on the roof. A space in itself, an upwardly shifted horizon that we never see. Paultje, our point of contact during the residency, told me stories about the pigeon neighbour and unintentionally determined my route on the roof. I only went on the left side. I climbed the ladder with a bucket full of charcoal and bedsheets. The ladder was the portal between the world on the ground and the world above my head. I made prints of details on the roof; the branch of a tree and the windows that made my presence visible for the people inside of the building.
