Green woodpecker

I met the green woodpecker as an uneven heartbeat of the forest somewhere on an island in Finland. I followed the sound and for a while I stood with my hand on the bark to feel the knocking that was happening somewhere above me. Ever since that moment woodpeckers always guide the path I follow in the forest. From Finnish advertisement leaflets, that I received in the mail every day, I made this sculpture. A sculpture that has since then accompanied me on other expeditions.
